Celebrating Alumni from 25 to 50 Years Ago

In 2012, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs began a new Commencement tradition for two very special groups of alumni – Golden and Silver Graduates. These alumni graduated 50 and 25 years ago, respectively, and helped build the foundation of what UCCS has become today. 

This Spring, UCCS is honored to recognize the class of 1974 at the May Commencement Ceremony.

About the Program

The Golden and Silver Graduate Program offers UCCS alumni the opportunity to celebrate their twenty-fifth and fiftieth college reunions in a very special way: by taking part in Commencement. The program includes:

  • Special feature article with graduate profiles in Communique, the official news publication of UCCS
  • Pre-Commencement luncheon with UCCS leaders and fellow Golden/Silver graduates
  • Complimentary Golden or Silver graduation regalia, provided by the UCCS Alumni & Friends Association
  • Professional photos of program participants and their guests
  • Opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow Golden/Silver Graduates, Alumni & Friends Association staff, and UCCS leadership
  • Inclusion in the Commencement ceremony processional, as well as formal recognition by the UCCS Chancellor during Commencement

Who is invited to participate in the 2024 Golden Graduate program?

All class of 1974 alumni from UCCS will be invited to participate in the Spring 2024 Silver Graduate Program. This includes anyone who graduated with their bachelor’s or graduate degree that year. Invitations will be sent based on the most recent data that UCCS has on file. If you have not updated your contact information recently or want to ensure you receive an invitation, please contact alumni@uccs.edu.

When will invitations go out?

Invitations to participate in the program will be mailed and sent via email in mid February.

Where do I sign up?

There are three ways to sign up to participate as a Golden Graduate: by sending the Alumni & Friends Association a completed RSVP slip (included in the mailed invitation), emailing alumni@uccs.edu, or through an online form.

What is the deadline to sign up?

The final deadline to sign up will be March 20, 2024.

When and where is the 2024 Commencement Ceremony?

This spring, Commencement will be taking place on Friday, May10 at the Broadmoor World Arena.
